AIS is the safest form of therapeutic stretching as a stretch is never held for more than 2 seconds. How does your body feel ? Loose, free, fully mobile..... or stiff, heavy and old?

Do you suffer from back pain, neck pain, tension in your shoulder?

And when you look in the mirror, what do you see? A straight, confident, dynamic you or someone with a very poor posture that looks - and feels - much older than you are?

Only those who have made a conscious decision to look after themselves and actually do it, are happy with the way their body look and feel.

We have some good news: if your body does not look and feel you way you would want to, it is not too late to start working on it. Being fit is not just being strong. It is also feeling fully mobile, no restriction, free in your body. Your youth is not about your age but about the amount of energy you have. Energy is life!

We start loosing mobility very early on, in our 20's. By the age of 35, most men need to start stretching if they don't want to look and feel 10 years older than they really are, a bit down the road. Women tend to be more flexible but they too feel the effects of time and a sedentary life in their general flexibility and well being.

Look at it this way: your body is like a luxury car. It's costly to repair but when properly maintained, it lasts decades and can take you far.

Proper maintenance means that your body needs regular check ups and care to run smoothly and stay in shape.

What would you do, if at the age of 20, you were told that you can have your dream car, but it would be the only one you can ever get, your entire life? It is up to you to decide whether you can take it around the world for 60 years or whether you can only go down the street with it, fearing that it won't bring you back.

Wouldn't you take take of it? Wouldn't you look at fixing it at the slightest sign of tear, before it gets worse? Before it's too late?

Well, this car is your body, my friend. You have been given one and it's the only one you will ever get. You decide how far it will carry you and how long it will help you live the life you want.

A flexible body, a body that is properly aligned, fully mobile and functional is a lot less prone to injuries. And injury, when you're 45 is not the same as when you're 15 or 20. The recovery time is much longer, the pain is much greater and the body never quite go back to the way it was before.

To help increase the flexibility of our clients, we use a method called Active Assisted Isolated Stretching, a technique that originated in the USA.

how does it works?

Active Isolated Stretching is the most innovative and safest form of therapeutic stretching and has proven to be particularly effective for postural re-alignment and increasing flexibility.

Muscles in the body operate in pairs. Through reciprocal innervation of muscles that are actively contracted, the antagonist muscles are relaxed and therefore safely stretched so as to increase joint and muscle mobility.

Active Isolated Stretching was developed by Aaron Mattes, over the past 35 years and introduced to Hong Kong in 1997, by Chris Watts when he co-founded Stretch Limited with his wife Sylvie.

how can Assisted Stretching help you?

  • It relieves pain: 80% of back pain is due to mechanical dysfunction and can be relieved through re-aligning the posture. Active stretching is particulary effective in realigning your posture, and relieving your pains.
  • It prevents injuries: By increasing your flexibility, mobility and the health of your muscles, tendons and ligaments, you reduce the risk of muscle strain and tear. Regular Active Stretching significantly helps prevent injuries caused by day to day living.
  • It promotes a faster recovery: We believe in Active Isolated Stretching. because it improves oxygenation and nutrition of the myofacial structures promoting growth and repair. So when you are injured, you recover more quickly.
  • It increases blood circulation:  Active Isolated Stretching also stimulates circulation and lymph drainage, which helps eliminate waste.
  • It increases mobility and flexibility: Active Isolated Stretching allows you to intensify your training, protect you from pain, spasms and tension which will ultimately inhibit your movements.
  • it helps re-align collagen fibers
